Construction continues at Lake Country Village in Putnam County as the development's Publix-anchored retail center nears completion.
Fortis Siteworks served as the site contractor for the commercial portion of the project, delivering the infrastructure needed to support one of the most anticipated retail developments in the Lake Oconee region. The scope included earthwork, underground utilities, storm drainage, curb and gutter, erosion control, roadway improvements and building pad preparation for the new shopping center.
Located along State Route 44/Lake Oconee Parkway, the project sits on one of the region's busiest commercial corridors, with nearly 20,000 vehicles traveling the roadway each day. The work included coordination with existing highway infrastructure and construction of a new entrance designed to support future traffic demands generated by the development.
By the time major sitework activities were substantially complete, Fortis had managed more than 230,000 cubic yards of earthwork and topsoil operations across the site while installing nearly 8,000 linear feet of underground utility and storm drainage infrastructure. The project also included more than 3,600 linear feet of curb and gutter and over 8,000 square yards of asphalt paving delivered in coordination with Fortis subcontracting partners.
As commercial activity continues expanding throughout the region, Fortis remains focused on delivering the sitework and utility infrastructure that supports long-term development.
