EATONTON, GA — Fortis Siteworks proudly joined state and local leaders yesterday for the ceremonial groundbreaking of Lake Country Village, a 140-acre mixed-use development in Putnam County.
As the project's site development partner, Fortis is responsible for preparing the commercial pad that will house a highly anticipated Publix-anchored retail center—the first vertical construction component of the project.
With earthwork, grading, utilities, and infrastructure now underway, Fortis Siteworks is central to turning the project’s long-term vision into a build-ready reality.
“Our team takes great pride in delivering the foundation for growth—literally,” said Mike Wilson, Chief Operating Officer of Fortis Siteworks. “Being trusted with the site development for the first major announcement of Lake Country Village is not just a job—it’s a responsibility we take seriously. This project will shape the future of this area, and we’re honored to help lay the groundwork.”
Fortis Siteworks provided robust support for the groundbreaking ceremony, including logistics planning and field execution to ensure Thursday’s ceremonial milestone was also a functional kickoff. The team coordinated all early site setup, including special details for the event, staging equipment, installation of the sign, and safety planning for visitors and dignitaries by backfilling unlevel ground with mulch.
“We’re proud to partner with Shaifer Partners on a project that aligns so closely with our values—purposeful development, community investment, and quality delivery,” Wilson added.
