Fortis Delivers Sitework for Good Samaritan Pavilion

September 21, 2026

Construction continues on the new St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Pavilion in Greensboro, a $45.6 million expansion designed to increase access to healthcare services across Greene County and the Lake Oconee area.

Fortis Siteworks partnered with Brasfield & Gorrie as the sitework contractor, preparing the property and installing the underground infrastructure needed to support the three-story addition. The pavilion will provide expanded pharmacy, rehabilitation, infusion, laboratory, imaging and physician services on the existing St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital campus.

Crews performed the work within a limited footprint beside an operating hospital while coordinating around vertical construction and multiple contractors. Fortis’ scope included clearing, demolition, earthwork, building pad preparation, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, domestic water, fire-water infrastructure, erosion control and modifications to the existing stormwater system.

Fortis cleared 4.4 acres and performed more than 13,000 cubic yards of onsite earthwork. Crews also prepared the 18,558-square-foot building pad and completed basement-wall backfill as the pavilion moved into vertical construction.

The underground utility package included more than 4,000 linear feet of storm drainage, domestic water and fire-water infrastructure. Crews installed 32 drainage structures, including curb inlets, catch basins and junction boxes, along with four fire hydrant assemblies and sanitary sewer serving the new facility.

Additional work included utility tie-ins, construction of a stormwater detention pond and modifications to an existing outlet-control structure. The Good Samaritan Pavilion adds another healthcare project to Fortis’ portfolio, with crews delivering grading and underground infrastructure within an active, space-constrained medical campus.
