Boring
Our fastest-growing division, with three crews capable of laser-guided horizontal bores from 12 to 72 inches. Fortis executes road and utility crossings across the state using a Barbco Pathfinder Guided Boring Machine, including recent work on the Effingham County Water extension (effinghamwater.org).
Grading
Clearing, mass grading, site prep, demolition, embankments, erosion and sediment control, pond conversion, and final dressing. Through subcontractor partnerships, Fortis also delivers curb, gutter, stone base, and paving to provide a complete site package. Teams recently moved nearly 1.9 million CY of dirt across corridor projects.

Notable clients and project partners include Linger Longer Development, Pulte/Del Webb, Brasfield & Gorrie, Forestar, Dream Finders Homes, E.R. Snell, and Pittman Construction, among other municipal and state agency prime contractors. Fortis currently runs 13 crews across a range of simultaneous grading, utility, and boring projects. A recent showcase for one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S.: a 164-acre residential development requiring over 600,000 CY of earthwork and nearly 27,000 LF of underground utilities including storm drainage, sanitary sewer, force main, water line, and lift station installation.
